I just sat another 5 hours in a tree stand….
No deer were harmed during this Muzzleloading event….unfortunately.

I've been hunting deer and elk but had to revert to an "unmentionable" because I've had my 54 set up with light loads for the "shoot season" and haven't had the weather nice enough to lure me to the range 
But , the scenery is nice so.....

I like your woods. I could sit for hours there alone with a flintlock rifle, powder horn and possibles bag and wouldn't mind if I didn't see anything. Of course I would be sitting on the ground with my back next to a tree. If I live and nothing happens and the good Lord willing I will turn 67 in a couple weeks. Forty years ago when I was in the army and using a knock off of a Baker stand I got a work out hugging a tree and pulling myself up, scratching up my arms wearing short sleeves before the weather got too cold. Then the doggone thing would tilt and nearly dump you out. Fortunately I never fell but you had to be careful how you would shift around in that thing. I figured out a long time ago deer hunting was a lot less work when you don’t shoot anything other than your camera…

bet that can be a ruff drag if you was to shoot a deer down in there. danglol. them baker stands were a workout. used one long time ago. don't matter how cold you going sweat. even when u tied your jacket with a rope to pull up. don't miss them stands

Was finally able to solder the trigger guard i snapped right at the point where the curl ends into the front flat part tryin to slightly bend it. I've ever had much luck soldering copper pipes but was happy I got this done. It did take me a couple tries but you have to learn somewhere.
I also ordered a new trigger guard for my Jukar kentucky rifle to customize it a bit.
