coming to the end of my first rifle build an am wondering what I should do for the barrel and lock of a 1770s longrifle. The gun will be used for hunting and Reenacting so It needs to be as historically accurate as possible. thank you guys

Here's a question for all; when a person sends in for a Factory Letter from Colt, S&W, Ruger, etc., what happens when the SN pops up in their records as stolen? Or maybe the Factory doesn't ever have such information in the first place. Just curious.

Polished and in-the-white, or rust-blued. The rust-blueing process isn't period correct, but has the same color/finish as charcoal heat bluing which would be correct.

French gray is what you get when your in the white barrel gets the patina from use.
