I'm new here and asking the first question. I've got a .54 cal. Pedersoli Tryon plains percussion rifle I inherited and I was wondering what the used value of this gun is in very good condition? It's got 2 tone striped blue steel features and what I believe to be a walnut stock.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The BLUE BOOK OF MODERN BLACK POWDER VALUES 2003 said the Tryon was worth $585 for 100%, $495 for 98% and $395 for 95%.

While there are newer versions of the book with higher prices, these prices look about like what I would expect to see.
There is a footnote in the book that says to add $390 for a maple stock and $200 for an engraved model.

Have a look at what a new one costs and come down from there!! If you can find someone who really whants one the price will be better. Incidently its a cracking little gun and very accurate.

Thanx for your effort guys.

I feel like one of those people on Antique Roadshow.

"It's worth how much? I had no idea!"

As I recall, several years ago the one of the International muzzleloading championships was won by a guy shooting a Pedersoli Tryon.

I own a .45 caliber Tryon and it is an exceptionally accurate rifle although with its 1 inch octagon barrel it is a bit on the heavy side.

I replaced the standard sights with a Lyman target front sight and a Pedersoli Verner tang sight.

I picked one up earlier in the year for $350.00 including shipping.
