So I bought some Barricade today and will be trying it out. After I shoot, I plan on scrubbing the bore with T/Cs Bore Cleaner, then swab it with hot water and Dawn as I usually do, and then patch it dry. I guess then I will put some Barricade on a patch and run it in and out a few times and I am done. Am I correct that if I want to shoot the next day, I first run an alcohol patch down the barrel and then I am good to go? Thanks.

Yes you are correct.. The Barricade will quickly dry in the bore, so when you use the alcohol patch you will see a little staining on the patch. It’s not rust!

You can shoot the gun without removing the Barricade, it’s such a thin film I don’t think it matters one way or the other..

On a barrel with a patent type breech using a dry patch works for the bore but does little to dry out the breech. I like to squirt WD 40 down the barrel, blow the excess and any water out of the barrel through the nipple hole with nipple removed (I just blow down the muzzle) and then a dry patch followed by Barricade.

No need for the TC bore cleaner, but it won't hurt anything. Process should work.

I strongly suggest that you do NOT use the T/C bore cleaner if it is their #13. I've seen it create surface rust in a bore within minutes of it being used. This happened on several of my guns, right before my eyes so my Thompson Center #13 went into the trash.

Just use plain water with a little dish washing detergent added to clean your guns. You'll be happy you did.

Oh, IMO, Barricade is the best rust protection you can use. Wipe on a wet coat and let it dry. That's all that is needed.

Thanks Zonie for the heads up on the T/C bore cleaner. Actually I ordered some last week and I will be sending it back when I get it.

Haven't had Zonie's rust problem with T/C #13 cleaner but I understand it is essentially water with a few additives. I use tap water with a couple of drops of dish soap to accomplish the same cleaning at no cost. I am careful to thoroughly dry the bore before using a rust preventative: a light oil like RemOil if I'll be shooting the gun soon or Barricade for longer storage. And I do run some dry patches down the bore before shooting it again.

I agree with Kansas Jake for a patent breech WD40 to displace water in channel and breech.
