I'm going to do another project this fall but want to experiment a bit on other wood before I start cutting on a fancy stock.

One of the things I would like to do better is sand a nice sharp edge on the curves around the lock. Any good tip's out there?

IF your hold'n back a family secret PM me, and I'll take it to the grave with me.

Leave your lock panels a little thick. Then after you are through with the curves and all the other woodwork, the last thing you do is sand the lock panels with a sanding block down to size. This leaves a good sharp edge all around.

yep Darkhorse said it,,do all the "finish" sanding on the curvey parts first,(all the way to whiskerin), then "block" sand the flats. Carefull how ya grip the curvey parts with yer oily hands,,darn wood!
