I was just reading about the use of WW for patched ball use and got to thinking this might be a solution for my .36 model 62. In that they cast a bit bigger it may be just the ticket for the larger diameter cylinder mouths I just reamed to make them .001 larger than the groove diameter.
I have never really seen the need to shave lead when loading especially when they fit tightly enough to not move under recoil and have a grease wad seated underneath between the powder and the ball. What think Ye?
I'll cast up a few and see how they fit. I perhaps won't need to buy a few thousands larger mold as I only need about .0015 larger to be tight in the reamed out chamber mouths. Mike D.

I think you want the ball swaged into the cylinder for the tightest gas seal possible. I received some .454 balls with some wheel weight mixed in. I can just barely get them rammed into my pistol, afraid it will break the lever. Just received some pure lead balls to replace them, will give the others to someone who casts.

I know what I have learned from the High Master's, they do not agree with you at all. In a 1000 point match, there is less than 6 point spread from 1St and 2Nd place, drop a shoot and you are a loser.

Ball which is pure lead, shaves a ring of lead when loaded, forget wheel weights. Masters use cylinder loading stands, they do not use pistol loading levers on their pistols.
Lube of choice on the ball.

Check with Keith B. he will help your with revolver shooting, he comes to Phoenix and Friendship and makes the Alaska shoots.
