Will it hurt to leave the gun loaded for a few days or is there salts in it that will corrode the barrel?

No problem, any naturally rendered tallow or oil will be salt free. I use deer tallow and marmot oil and have left a rifle loaded from one season to the next with no ill effect. After each days hunt I do dry patch the bore from muzzle to ball and follow that with a lightly oiled patch in case there may be some moisture in that exposed area but the area occupied by the load gets no further treatment.
