Working on another leather pouch.
I Decided to go the easy route and leave it identifiable as myself as the maker with DNA (again).

p.s. Needles are sharp! :shocked2:

it's always DNA with me too, prob is I use 000 harness needles, they are NOT sharp. That is pain, lemme tell ya.

ooohh! been theredonethat!

much rather play with sharp chisels or wood tools than those needles - it's just the sewing that klutzes me out - i can cut wood and shave with a straight razor, and do all that 'manly man' stuff, except sew... well i can sew, just not very well ...

It's always DNA that's why my projects are usually so far apart, so I can heal lol

LOL been there! I made an antler handled flint knfe.
cut the slot to slide the blade into, well I made it a bit undersized and it slipped, and ripped my thumb open!
so after I got the bleeding stopped I put a cut resistant glove on and went back to it, less than two minutes later I was back in the bathroom trying
to stop the bleeding on the other hand!

I "brand" the custom furniture I build but my "gun stuff" as swmbo calls it just gets a nice red DNA mark. :idunno:

DNA all the way!!

gus13, that's a neat looking knife .... by the way, why trot to the bathroom to stop the bleedig? don't you have duct tape? superglue?

better living through modern technology!

:rotf:

Sewed through the fleshy part between my thumb and index finger and accross the bone to the lower palm of my hand with a leather sewing machine I talked a guy into letting me use to sew some sandals. It went so fast the punctures didn't really hurt that much, it was taking the thread out that made me climb the walls :shocked2: I say it ain't done right till you hurt yourself.

I have a makers mark that I add to all of my leather stuff. But I have gotten in the habit of making all the holes first, and taking my time and I very seldom ever leave any blood on my work anymore.

Poking myself with a needle just hurts, ya'll.

But I have poked all the way through the inside of my little finger, by the joint, with a diamond awl...Had to go pray after that one!
