I have a brand new 1849 Pocket pistol and the recommended ball size is .330 but I can't find any.
Isn't buckshot "hardened"? Might be difficult to load. The gun works has 00 buck=.330, but it's a five pound bag. You could shoot along time with five pounds though.
Find some old 12 gauge ammo loaded with 00 buck and remove it from the shells, typically 9 pieces in a standard round. If you don’t have any you should be able to get a 5 pack (giving you 45 pieces of 00 buckshot) for $10 or less locally.I have a brand new 1849 Pocket pistol and the recommended ball size is .330 but I can't find any.
The eras gone baby dragoon is also .330 and is a excellent conical for the uberti.Buckshot is very hard to load, especially with that short lever on the Pocket Model. There are devices to apply more leverage, but i was very concerned about breaking my loading lever using that methodology. I happened across a Lee .330 mold by chance, and I now cast my balls from pure lead. Made loading much easier. Smaller diameter balls were of course easier to load, but were a loose fit in my Uberti, which also came with the instructions to use a .330 ball.
