I have found a couple of black powder double barrel shotguns that I really like. Unfortunately they are breechloaders. Is there a good site, like this, where I could ask questions and get answers? Thanks.

I got one response so far. Evidently the two guns I was looking at are priced at about the actual value, $125 each. I thought maybe they were a bargain. Obviously not so much.

Apparently the two guns I were considering are wall hangers. I believe I will continue to gather and/or make the parts needed to complete my muzzleloading shotgun.

Sorry to keep mentioning the unmentionables here but the two I were considering did not have damascus barrels. The same shop had a nice Belgian double with damascus barrels and the proprietor told me that it would require black powder shells. The other two he said would be ok with modern "non high power" shells. Thanks and I'll let it rest now, on here at least. Pushing the boundries already, I suppose.

Tom, go to doublegunshop.com and look for their forums. Some very serious students of the shotgun inhabit that place.
Also, the Double Gun Journal is an invaluable source of information on all two-barreled long guns no matter when manufactured. One of the journal's significant contributors is a writer named Sherman Bell. He has written extensively regarding the strength and quality of the various twist and Damascus barrels.

I belong to a black powder shotgun group on Facebook. Black powder cartridge shotguns can be discussed there. It's fairly active.

I heard that publication went under last year.
