I just received a nice piece of cherry. It is 3x7x36, and one day I want it to be a custom half stock. Has anyone got a suggestion on where I can find a pattern to use? I have an Investarms Hawken, so I could replicate that stock, and I have a Bobcat synthetic stock - I could copy it too. Heck, that one is so thin, that I could make 4 stocks out of this chunk of wood!

I am open to ideas and not in a big hurry. I am thinking that I may look for another Bobcat and restock two of them - I have two daughters, so it would be neat.

Gimme ideas!! :redthumb:

I think Track of the Wolf has patterns for different styles of rifles....or 20 years ago they did! Useing it for the sythetic replacement sounds like a great idea...give it a more traditional look and increase it's value too!

That was the intent with this firearm all along - to restock it in a nice wood. It is not about value other than personal satisfaction. Although, now that I have such a big chunk, it is tempting to find the second one.

It is a shame that it was not 3 1/2" wide. Then 4 would be absolutely possible.
