My volumetric shot dipper has markings for both drams and ounces. Drams for powder and ounces for shot. Since @Walkabout id likely using the same volume of powder as shot, it really doesn't matter. Often less powder and more shot produces a denser pattern, but equal volumes are a good starting point.

I would say to get the Lee Powder measure from Track of the Wolf (shipping makes the low cost too high unless you are making other purchases).

Set the measure for ounces that you intend to se and use that setting for both powder and shot.

Adding to Rifleman 1776's comment you can buy brass tubing from K&S which are sized to neatly fit into one another. This way you can buy two sizes that will slide into each other and make your own adjustable powder/shot measure.

Empty cartridge cases are good too, 45-70 holds a bit under 3/4oz of #5 shot, a 30-378 Weatherby mag holds 1.75oz unless you trim it back :) (I've got 4, planning on trimming back to make a 1oz and a 1.5oz measure)

I've also got a nice stand of black bamboo here at the house, thinking of cutting a joint out so that one side is 1/2 oz and the other is 1/4 oz....

But first I need a bag-o-shot to do load testing, once I figure out my load I'll make my custom measures.

I ordered the cheap plastic dipper from TOW along with some other items. It had a wider range of adjustment than the more traditional type. Thanks for the input.
