SOLD White oak tavern tankard

I made this out of that rotten looking hewn log shown in the last picture. The house I am taking wood from started being built in 1819. These hewn logs made up the subfloor of the basement and certainly are the oldest part of the house. I cut off about 2" of bad wood before I got to the good wood and just counting rings from there and knowing this was hewn so I don't have the outer wood to date when it was cut, the center of this wood dates back at least to the 1670s. I haven't sealed this for drinking. I can if you want or you can use the sealer or your choice after if you prefer $45 plus shipping

I got some more turning to do folks. I had no idea this would be such a hit. I just do it for fun. Thanks everyone
