If you don't want to do it by hand, many of the stock sellers can CNC cut the profile if you send them your barrel. Check Rice's site and see if they recommend a stock company and they may have your barrel profile on the computer. There are probably builders here that can do it but the man hours will be a lot higher.I learned this talking to a builder.

Dave Rase over on the ALR site does a beautiful job of barrel inletting.

knob has had it for a mo. and now said they cant do it till Dixons fair is over

Why did you go and mention Dave Rase? He's a well kept secret bbl and RR inletter who does fantastically accurate work. Have been using him for many years and will be sending him a bbl and blank shortly. Hopefully....your mentioning him won't give him a long backlog.

Dave is also a very acomplished builder w/ innovative ideas. He lives in the state of Washington which entails expensive shipping charges, but the same goes for east coast inletters. Just as an aside....shipping costs have really increased the cost of goods and services for a builder and living in the Midwest really sucks sometimes.

When first starting to build MLers, I did the first 4 bbl inlets and then sent out....doing at least one bbl inlet is a worthwhile task for a beginning builder......Fred

First off, I wouldn't send anything without the barrel, this way you know it's right. Is it that imperative you need it before dixon's fair? Sometimes these guys get backed up and Dave K is a one man shop. Plus you got all these shows in the summer and guys get a lot of work there, let alone the time away from the shop going to them. From what I hear everybody is backed up that I would reccomend. Give Dave time, he'll get it done. Better send a couple stocks and barrels, this way you'll always have one ready to go when the last gun is completed, no waiting!
