I was noticing in some catalogs like Midsouth for example they offer most of the 1851 and 1860 as well as others, but they are shown as Traditions pistols.
Are these the same revolvers that either uberti or pietta manufactures and just imported by Traditions?
Would they be same as what Cabelas offers?

The two Traditions cap & ball revolvers that I messed with were both made by Pietta Brothers in Italy. They are in the same geographic region of Italy as Uberti & several of the better Italian shotgun makers. The quality of the two that I fooled with varied. The 1858 Remington replica was a well-fit piece. It was good to go, right out of the box. The 1851 Colt replica needed a little hand stoning here & there to work properly. It also needed to have the nipples turned slightly to fit the caps properly. It still shoots kind of high. They both use nipples with M6 x .75 threads. This is not a real standard size, but I am told that they can be had from the right parts importer. Timing, bore sizes & finishes were all good on both pieces.

I know that the Traditions Parker is made by Artest-- as to the Trapper I suppose it is also made by Artest---in Spain. :hmm: :hatsoff:

It appears that quite a bit of the Traditions product line is Ardessa. Just got a New Army 1858 made by Pietta in a Traditions box. Happy with both until my ship comes in and I have originals! Some interesting stuff at the Ardessa site:

I am in the pistol shopping mode. I have none. {yet} I own a Traditions 50cal Deerhunter and it is a stunningly accurate shooter. Parts and pieces are very easy to buy {we broke a trigger} I would not heistate to buy a Traditions pistol but I haven't yet. I can't make up my mind what to buy. So far all the BP guns I own I have found used. I'm thinkin it's time to buy myself something new
