Eliot Wigginton is the english teacher from the Appalachian Mountains of north Georgia that started Foxfire magazine along with his ninth- and tenth- grade classes in 1966. Foxfire Book #5 is dedicated to Iron Making and Blacksmithing, Gunmaking, and Bear Hunting. There are 200 odd pages concerning black powder, barrel making, siler locks, flintlock rifles, modern gunsmiths, turkey shoots, and the NMLRA. You can probably pick up a copy at your local library or bookstore. The book is sure to delight everyone interested in muzzleloading. You may also pick up some appreciation for a "culture of plain living" that seems to have escaped us. The international standard book number is 5060 9100 003 325 5.
