I thought it might be good to get some "Wilderness Wisdom" tips from everyone and have a good time with it.

Here is one my son had on his shirt a while back: :D

What are some other ones that you might have, besides keepin' the powder dry?

Lets see.

Don't eat the white berries.

You don't have to outrun an angry bear if you have a hunting partner; just your hunting partner.

Moss grows on the north side of tree trunks. It also grows on the east, south and west side of tree trunks.

When you come to a fork in a path, take it.

Most mushrooms are bad to eat. Some are fiercely toxic. The few that are good to eat have other mushrooms which closely mimic them and are toxic. Mother Nature loves messing with us.

lets see

dont pee into the wind

if you forget your TP make sure you know what stinging nettle looks like

when eating wild currents make sure there isnt two of them on the same stem "twin berries are not currents"

spraying 'cow in heat sent " on you while elk hunting may not be as good of idea as it sounds.

4F dosnt make a good fire starter

It's always a good idea to count your toes before and after you chop fire wood...

The early bird gets the worm, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese...

Yesterday is Wood

Only Today Does the

Time spent in pre-season scouting can be directly subtracted from the time required for a successful hunt!

How tired and inattentive you get is directly related to how close you are getting to jumping something up.

:hmm: The sun only rises in the NORTH on Sunday... :hmm:

When its 10 miles out and you gotta be to work on Monday.. :shocking: :shocking:

Fall asleep while hunting or lean your gun up against a tree when answering nature's call if you want to see any deer

oh, also if you hear leaves rustling or a twig snap it's only a mouse, squirrel, or maybe a grouse. If you hear nothing a deer is approaching

"Never allow any one person in your party carry all of the food, especially if that person is an imbecile..."

Mule's ear and stinging nettle bear a striking resemblence to one another

Never sleep with your feet in a fire

Never sleep in a bed of ants

If you choose to sleep in a bed of ants, don't roll over into a patch of poison ivy

Never drink Blackberry Brandy in areas rich in ants or poison ivy

:results:

Can't get'em under the electric blanket...have to answer the alarm and go, no matter how cold and miserable it is outside...sleep in after deer season is over

If something unexpected comes up at the last minute, and you can't go hunting, don't worry. The deer couldn't make it either. If you can go, sometimes the deer still can't make it.

If you can see the deer, he can see you.

Pass on all you have learned concerning wilderness knowledge, hunting, fishing, whatever, to anyone willing to learn. It's a great way to start someone else in the greatest adventure of their life, you will make a true friend, and be remembered for ever in their memories.

Hot glass looks exactly the same as cold glass
Never take a permanent action for a temporary situation
Never marry a woman with big hands!

Up here there are four that we swear by:

Don't wear cotton next to your skin (Winter).
If you sweat you die.
Always do a 360 before dropping you pants (awful hard to run with your pants down around your ankles).
Don't eat the yellow snow.

Best Wishes
