I was just wandering if any of you who have been
using fillers and wads have noticed if they help
protect the main charge against moisture more so
than if you didn't use them? I just started using
a filler this summer for grouping purposes, but I
also wandered if it would create more of an air
tight seal keeping moisture away from the main
powder charge in damp/wet conditions.

Your thoughts :hmm:

A greasy wad would probably make a great seal, but I don't know about the cornmeal type fillers. Though being dry grain, perhaps they'd absorb moisture rather than letting it into the powder. Anyone?

I use wads but am rarely out in really wet weather, so I couldn't say one way or another.
