Winter build

This is my winter build and I'll be here for advice often. Right now I'm curious about finishes for the wood and the and the metal. I'm a long way from that point but I'd like to lay in the supplies now. Thanks all, James

Pretty good gap between end cap and barrel. Do I take off wood, metal or both. Thanks

The first thing I would do is coat (lightly) the bottom and sides of the barrel with inletting black or candle soot or lipstick. Press the barrel into place and anywhere there is interference, you’ll have color. Take wood or metal off where the color is. Go slow.

Thanks Kevin. I'll do that and take it slow. I have until spring thaws to finish it. Between this build, reloading, fly tying and rod building I won't be getting bored.
