What's yer definition of Blank Wood? My folks sawed down an old walnut tree some 45 years ago and it set around the garage in planks near long as I can remember. I'v recently carved out a stock for a Hawken and an English sporting rifle, and also an old shotgun what came with a plastic stock about the time plastic was invented. The wood was plenty dry and stable after 45 yrs. I kept enough for half a dozen stocks and sold the rest before we moved.
