Hello,
I am looking for an original TC wooden ramrod for a 12 gauge new englander. My new englander came with one of those 'fancy' fiberglass rods. It just looks all wrong. I tried Thompson Center, Fox Ridge, Ebay, and Track of the Wolf. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Taylor in Texas

I made mine out of a good straight grained oak dowel. Had to look through the whole lot at the Woodcraft place to get a good one, but it works good, and looks good. That's an option if ya can't find one. Pahaska

T/C didn't have one?You could always order your ends from Track Of the Wolf and make one out of a Dowell like the poster above said.

Don't make a ram rod from dowwel :nono: These are machined wood and you can wind up with a broken piece through your hand.Go to a Frontier trade show or contact Track of the wolf for a split hickory rod.Soak it in linseed oil for about a week then cut and sand it to fit your gun ,Take the tips you are going to use and chuck them up in a power drill and spin em onto the end of the rod with a little epoxy. Then chuck up a small brass finish nail with the head cut off and spin it through the holes on the rod tips.snip em off and file em down to finish..There you go :applause: ...Mark

My handmade dowel one isn't broken, the one that came with the T/C broke and split just like described above. Pahaska
