Years ago my Dad built a TC 50 Cal. Hawken from kit. He took a lot of pride in that gun as he worked it to as good a finish I believe possible from materials provided. Yesterday I broke the wooden ramrod which was part of the setup. As I look for a replacement online, I can't find an exact match. I find aluminum, fiberglass but no wooden ramrods specifically for that gun. I know these replacements are probably better by todays standards etc. but I'm really hoping to return the gun to its original setup. Anyone know where I can get one?...

The best bet (in my opinion) is to make a ramrod from straight-grained hickory, next best is to order a rod of the proper diameter from a vendor (e.g. Track of the Wolf, etc.).

If ordered from a vendor, you will need to cut it to length and add the tips (if any). If tips are added, make sure to cross-drill and pin the tips on.

You might try the T/C Customer Service Dept.
Or check eBay.
Good luck tracking down an original, and when you do, get a couple aftermarket extras and a range rod to use. Keep the original for show, use the others for go.

And you could re-use the original tips from your broken rod too.

I have some leftover original T/C Hawken resin impregnated ramrods...I actually replaced all mine over the years with brass rods but kept all the originals...have made a few short starters out of the ends of some of them.

If you can't locate one check with me and I'll see if I have one I can spare, or if I've used them all up.
(I assume you're talking about the standard barrel's 28.5" underbarrel ramrod)

If you can't get one from Roundball or T/C, email me & I will see if I can help you. But I will need the old ramrod to make you a new one by & reuse the tips.

[email protected] Put Ramrod in the subject line or it will go into Spam file.
