Wrought iron for barrels

I know there’s going to be at least one “why do you want wrought iron and not steel?”. I’ve been trying to find a source for wrought iron stock to make some small caliber pistol barrels(>.40). Does anyone have any sources? I’d prefer nothing smaller than 1” round stock but can make thicker work. Is anyone making wrought barrels and willing to share advice? Thanks!

That will be hard to find. Why not start with an original barrel? You can vote and re-rifle or whatever you want.

It’s just something I’d like to try and slowly improve upon. I hate building a rifle almost entirely from scratch and needing to rely on supply chain for a barrel and lock(working on them too). I don’t see too many wrought iron barrels come up for sale either. I slept on one and someone beat me to it recently. I don’t know I just really enjoy building my own stuff versus buying something premade
