SOLD WTS: .45 caliber percussion long rifle

Full stock long rifle, made in the 60's with a 42" straight octagonal barrel, 15/16" across the flats. .45 caliber, good bore. Double set triggers (the set trigger must activated for the lock to ****). Very nice, light front trigger. I shot this on one occasion and it did well. I never had time to play around with different loads. Has plate with original owners initials and the year 1966 marked. Barrel is marked by W. C. Hart of Cross Timbers, MO.

I forgot to mention... there is a crack at the lock screw head on the edge of the left panel. It's because the original builder did not use a bushing to distribute the force of the bolt head (and it's a fairly narrow bit of wood). I can epoxy it and insert a pin through it.

I also installed a brand new drum and nipple. The originals were serviceable but likely original from the 60s and have a lot of wear. I will include the original drum and nipple.

No, I don't think so. I don't think it's marked at all. It's the first brass lockplate I've seen in person, though I recall reading about them. There is no half-**** in the action. I have a Russ Hamm on my other .45. The lock on this seems to have more power when striking than the Hamm lock (though the Hamm lock has never failed to set a cap off, either). Interestingly, there is no half-****.
