Item is sold, pending payment.

Thanks.

This is a high-quality tool that I bought years ago and only used once - this one is marked "C. Sharps Arms." The tool mounts into any reloading press that accepts standard 7/8" x 14 dies. Then, by filling the tube with a good black powder lube, you can easily express approximately 1/8" thick by 1" wide lube ribbons. I'm no longer shooting black powder cartridge guns and this tool has become "excess to requirements." It's in excellent "as-new" condition, with some stubborn traces of lube in the threads.

Buffalo Arms sells these for over $100, plus shipping.

I'll let this one go for $75.00, including shipping and insurance to a Lower 48 address - and I'll throw in a tub of commercial black powder lube.

Please PM me if interested.

Thanks.

Thanks for your interest.

First, you unscrew the rounded top.

Then screw the tool into your reloading press with the open top of the tool pointing up - the same way you would screw in a reloading die.

Then insert a stick of black powder lube into the open tool, or pour in melted lube and let it cool.

Then screw the top back on.

Now - when you pull the handle down on your press, the ram where the shell holder usually goes will come up and engage the long shaft sticking out of the bottom of the tool. As the shaft is pushed up into the tool, a ribbon of lube will be extruded out the top - much like a cookie press. You can then trim the ribbon off and lay it on a cutting board.

You can then take a cartridge loaded with black powder and compressed with a wad, turn it upside down and press the mouth of the case into the lube ribbon. That will add extra lube under your bullet when you seat it. Of course, be sure that your black powder load contains no remaining empty air space.

I'm attaching a photo of the tool mounted in my press.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again.

No - you can just use any shell holder. The stem on the tool is not small enough to pass through the shell holder's primer hole.

Thanks.
