Help needed

A friend has this flintlock pistol. Came from his uncle, or great uncle who was a History teacher. He is just curious of it's history. Thanks for any and all input. I believe it says Lazarino?

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is probably a late 18th or early 19th century eastern pistol (Turkish?) made from Italian or Spanish pieces (likely pieces from older, obsolete guns).

Thank you. I've only seen the photos myself, haven't seen it in person. The steel does look old.

A real Lazarino barrel is very scarce. I think he was a famous barrel maker . I’ve read most barrels stamped with his name are fakes from back in the day.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s an Italian pistol. But it may have been made for export to the Ottoman Empire. Be worth fixing up!

Yep. I read he was a barrel maker, then went to building whole guns.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s an Italian pistol. But it may have been made for export to the Ottoman Empire. Be worth fixing up!

From some photos I found online that look similar, the cock jaw was a work of art on its own. Too bad it's missing. It's smooth bore miked to just under 50.
