I don't want a gun full of filthy grease when I clean it. getting back to ZERK, My guns do not come equipped with ZERK fittings.

Better than full of rusty parts !!

Sure! It's not for everybody. Probably depends on your climate, how often you shoot, whether you clean action parts every time you clean, have an "action shield" (which keeps the grease much cleaner). . . or just don't wanta !! No biggie, it's just an option that makes "maintenance" easier if you're not in to "maintenance". I don't shoot bp so mine have been filled for years.

I shoot both BP and unmentionables. More BP in the warmer time of year.

But you can't beat be3ing able to load up rounds to shoot before you get to the range.

Even with a lot of BP shooting the grease works better and frankly you pull the parts out, wipe em off, get a rag into the cavity and swipe that out and good to go.

You don't have stuff wanting to stick inside there which is a maint reduction.

And its great capture for parts that break off! (think of it as the arrestor barrier on a carrier)

Only the outside of the grease is dirty. Inside its nice clean grease. Now granted, my wife wanted to know how to service her old Bronco when I met her so we had a maint lesson under the Bronco.

When it was due to the next one, I said, how come you have not done the service? Well its dirty. Ok, I wasted my time showing you how why?

Grease is not for everyone but then BP shooting is dirty, so........ man, look at the bore after one firing.

New Trigger arrived, perfect fit and function. Smooth face vs the serrated rows on the old one. For bench rest and range shooting standing, I don't think any issue. It might be a bit more better for hunting and or with gloves.

I am thinking I need an electric screwdriver for as many times as I have had it apart lately. Of course that would be to remove screws after broken loose and only to before begin to tighten, don't want to mess with heads.

I chewed off the end of a finger in a bizarre cycle chain ND when I was a kid, that is what the end of the old trigger looks like.

Still a bit annoyed with myself as the clue was there, just not mentally into the details of what affects what and the logical conclusion for a new shift in the Bolt ops is clearly the trigger sear surface.
