So I ordered the Dutch Schoultz black powder rifle accuracy system. I have finished reading through the material.

I thought I knew what I was doing; turns out I only knew a little bit, and luck has helped me more than I previously understood.

So, this coming weekend (if my job will leave me alone), I will be applying what I read, and I am looking forward to the results. I have no idea if I will become an avid target shooter, but ..., it should be fun to find out what my rifles can really do when properly loaded.

It's well worth the price, isn't it? I have bought one for myself and then bought two more for a couple friends for their birthdays. I know Dutch helped me out quite a bit. I mean, I was on the right track, but he saved me a LOT of powder and lead and experimenting.

I got mine a few months ago. after a few range days I now have better groups at 80 yards than I could get at 40. Im new to the traditional style ML (prob between 1-2 years at it) but Ive been shooting the modern ML a few decades now. very educational

OK, OK, OK. After everything good I have read on the Forum on this system I've also put out the $19.95. I've never had any formal training of any kind in shooting and always wondered what I could learn (and I know there is plenty!)from someone that actually knows what they are doing. I'm not a paper puncher just for that purpose only, but if it helps make one hunting shot better, the price is worth it.

Knowing some and hearing more is not the same as having it all organized and laying out in front of you. When you have a question and e-mail him you will be even happier with the purchase! Geo.T.

For all the guy's that are just getting the system;
Read it more than once, if fact read it a bunch,
And if you really want it to work, do what he lay's out as he has it layed out.
If you go at it hodge-podge or piece meal you won't gain the full benefit.

If you want to get the best accuracy out of your rifle Dutch's system is the way to go. I have had real good luck with it. Being lazy, I most often just use wonder lube for back yard shooting. However when I need to get all the accuracy I can I will go with Dutch's system cause it works.

necci's point is well made ... read it through several times. Schoultz has the gift of being able to visualize a process in a sequential manner, and he understands that firearms are resonant mechanisms. it wasn't until my third read that i felt i was really 'getting it...' this isn't to imply that the method is confusing or in any way badly written, but when you go from where i was (basically, put in powder, put in ball, shoot, look at target, cuss that you missed, repeat) to where he wants you to be, well, it's a pretty long journey and it takes some steps.

they're well worth it: your money was very well spent, as you will soon discover!

make good smoke

Looks like I need to get this, especially since I am getting my first nice rifle next week. Thanks for mentioning this system.

Can you elaborate on what this "system" is? Is it a gun, a lube , a shoe, a hachet, some weird chair????
If I was to spend money on something , first , at least I need to know what kind of thing I'll be getting.
Thanks

Dutch's "system" is a series of logical, methodic steps to discover the exact powder charge, patch thickness, lube, etc. that will give you the most accurate load that your rifle is capable of. He gives a LOT of information to maximize your rifle's accuracy. If you are interested in accuracy, you won't regret the money you spend on his system.

I got a note from him today after placing my order. Apparently he has saved years of questions he has gotten, and his answers into a 35 page pdf he will send via email to 'subscribers', if they want it. I obviously accepted as then you get to see what others may have misunderstood and already asked questions on and the answers.

Let me add.
Read Dutch's material 20+ times.
Have it for reference. Especially the targets.
Do not skip a thing.
Then read Necci's post 20 more times.
Repeat.

Yeah, the thing is there is sooooo much stuff in there,
Heck I was picking things up after the 3rd read, and still referred to it many times the first few years I had it.

Dutch lives n St. Louis and I have had a few beers with him in the years past when i was in town. He is a nice guy.

I bought his system years ago but have never tried it

I started saving my responses to questions and as it was becoming a bit of a lump I have converted it to a 30 something page "EBook" in pdf format.
You can download Adobe Reader free on the internet which allows you to read pdf files.
It is a touch repetitive but some things need to be stressed.
I am suggesting that only subscribers to my System ask for it because not knowing from whence I am coming you might find it upsetting.
So any old customers send me your email addresses and It will be on its way NO CHARGE.
Arrogantly, I felt that when I buy the farm all my wizardry
will be on that farm with me. So I put it all down in printable form so it won't be lost.
I intend to add to it if as and when any other memories of semi forgotten thoughts want to be added.
