Got in this beauty back from Clay Smith:

It’s one of Clay’s dandy Type G Carolina trade gun. Takes 24 balls to the pound. Historically correct red oxide (rust) based paint. 48” long and weighs just north of 6 lbs. balances beautifully and the rear sight makes it a great round ball gun.

We had a slight issue with the paint not being cured properly but Clay fixed it right up. Standup guy and I can’t wait to get this back on the range!

I tried milk paint on mine but couldn’t get it to stick well. So I did cheat and use acrylic paint. Then oil on top, may have had something to do with the wood
