Recently completed. 42” .62/20 gauge. Iron mounted, maple stock. Built from parts purchased on forum. Finished with Aqua Fortis and severaI coats of BLO, burnished with oak rod. Barrel and parts blued with Oxpho and rubbed back. Lock is white. Crisp trigger @13 3/4 LOP. Weighs approximately 7.3 pounds. Ram rod started as 7/16”and tapers to 3/8” with tow screw tip made from scratch, large end coved for ball. I removed a lot of wood from the precarve and it is a slender, light gun. I found the lock in an older TOW catalog as I believe it to be a Davis lock with Chambers internals. It is smooth, fast and everything has been stoned smooth. I made the front sight from brass, tenons are metal, soldered on. It loads/shoots .595 RB, anything larger is too tight. I have fired approximately 20 rounds through it using .015 patches soaked with olive oil and 15 loads of #5 with cards and wads soaked with same along with a few loads of tow as wading. Loads and shoots great. Cleans easily with tow.
