Been looking for some nipples.

Having difficulty and getting what I think is bad information.

I'm looking for a nipple to fit in an 1860 army Colt replica by pieta.
Might as well get a set as the spare ones I have are too short to fit and although the thread is the same the nipple itself is too short.
other nipples I had were from a gun that was dry fired (no I didn't do it) but the nipples are so bent over that they're not going to work.

Found some on eBay.
Problem is it says for pieta 1851 1860 and 1858. ???
I had a couple spare nipples for my pieta 1851 but they're different from the ones in my 1860 and they are not going to even fit in there.

Keep in mind that Slix Springs offers two types, a longer cone and a shorter cone. I found the short cones were too short (those normally come in groups of 5 for a different model).

The Cone Wrench is outstanding, I was not sure on it due to the odd shape but it works really well, perfect in my view.

So the nipple/tubes out of my 1851 Navy is different than the one out of my 1860 army,

I can, swap the cylinders an barrels with the frames on my 1851 and my 1860 model and it works fine,
I would have thought the spare tubes I had would fit a walker , an 1849 pocket an the 1851 Navy and the 1860 army.

I may be wrong but I seemed to remember that the original colts had the same tubes in them and I thought that the modern reproductions would be the same

I've gone with the slix springs recommendations on all of my Uberti and Pietta revolvers (5) and they have worked fine. I've also used Track of the Wolf nipples. They give you the exact measurements and thread size of what they are selling if you can measure and match what you have. Those are also good nipples. I found the caps fit a little too tight on them and had to sand them down a bit. NP with the slix nipples so I switched to them for everything.

I have been told by some technicians and gunsmiths that the nipples in a pietta model 1849 1851 1858 and 1860 are all interchangeable , are all the same length , and have the same thread , and all will work in any one of those models, they say there should not be any difference in the oldest pieta to the newest pieta, and that the same goes for uberti as well.

tubes out of my Ubertis do fit in all of the piettas ,
I don't believe I've ever really tried to exchange all of the parts before,
tubes look exactly the same too, I wonder if both companies are buying their tubes from a third party or one company is buying tubes from the other company.

I swear, some days my brain just does not want to register. I looked at the title here and immediately thought, "Why does he need a nipple on a flintlock?", equating, of course, muzzleloader ONLY being a flintlock.

(sigh) o_O

The Doc is out now.

Well as far as brain malfunctionings go I really screwed up a heap bigger than that, I was talking to some people on the phone yesterday looking for some spare parts for my 1849 pocket I called cimmeron and told it I'm I needed parts for my pietta and they said sorry we don't carry pietta parts,

I called a couple different companies and got upset and hung up on a woman who was really just trying to help me because she told me that the technician she talked to said that pietta never made an 1849 pocket and I thought oh good grief you people don't even know what you're doing so I just hung up,

And then I decided to turn my brain on and thought oh no it's not a pietta !! cimmeron gets their stuff from Uberti.

I really should have called back and apologized to her for hanging up
