Mine shoots that .495 ball with an .018 patch best also. Im currently using 2fg Old Eynsford. Ive tried the 70 grain load also which was fine but havent really done much work beyond that as the 60 and 70 grain loads are good enough for what I do. Im just a target shooter who likes shooting steel. I dont hunt anymore. I do have some .490 balls that I am going to shoot up and I have been using a .020 patch with the 490 which is a better choice I found than the .018 or the .015.Same 60 grain powder charge. I need a short starter to start both but really th .495 isnt that hard to shove down on the powder.
