I have a 26 inch flintlock, it shoots round ball better than I can anymore. When I built it I shot it almost exclusively and got pretty good with it. 75gr 2f, patch and .600 ball would hit something the size of my hand at 75yds, if I did my part. It would give rifle shooters a hard time. I don't shoot it as much as I used to and it shows. Shoot it a LOT, learn what it likes, it will serve you well.

Post those targets WALT53 ! You did d@mn good shootin with yer N.W. canoe gun ! :)
Here you go the can was 55 yards paper was 25 yards .

Rob your very kind. The barrel I tried my best to antique it. Its ok but Ok really wished it turned out better. The brass I tried to age the best I could. It's ok but the next one should be better. The stock is maple and I guess you could call it flamed some what.
All brass furniture was made by me..I aged it with brass black. Not sure if I'm thrilled or not. The lock functions very well and the trigger is about 2 lbs of pull. Trigger reach is 13 an 3/8. But plate has five screws. Something I just wanted to do different. Front sight is hand made. Seems to work ok. The front thimble I put close to the muzzle to make it look like the barrel had been cut off. The barrel is 26 inches.
Criticism will be much appreciated and it's all your fault...lol. LOVE these trade guns...!!!

Rob here's the gun. Critiques are welcome.. Haven't shot it yet...I'm not good with this camera phone..
Well the only thing I know about trade guns is that I want one. I think you did a great job on yours. That’s cool you made your brass furniture. This is what makes it unique!

So cool !! :) Thanks for sharing !! Love it !!

Thank you but I got to know how to improve... Ya can't hurt my feelings...Seriously... Gtrubicon thanks for your reply. I like making everything I can for a gun or anything else for that matter.

I make a living with my hands. Over the years I have improved my skill by looking at the work, seeing how it could have been done differently for a better outcome. A craftsman has to be his own most harsh critic. As with anything experience is the key to getting better at what you do, unless you’re a politician. I’ve only built one rifle from scratch and I have identified lots of things I’m going to do differently on the next. I’ve been practicing on some CVA rifles and a pistol. On these I’ve tried different metal and wood finishes and re contouring the stocks to make them better for me. I actually just finished an Investarm rifle today. I have all the bits n pieces for my next custom build, but I wanted some more practice before I start that one. Studying photos of the guns have helped me a lot.
