Like those above, full scale? Or are you talking more miniatures?
If it was authentic, it may have been a Lapan Foundry bronze Mortar, they have been out of business for more than a decade.

What's the story on these?
So these are authentic reproductions? This looks like what I had seen. Do these ever come available?
As I remember, they were pool ball bore, they are pretty highly prized, and rare.
Here's mine in action one 4th of July. It's the same one Dixie Gun Works still sells. I found that racquet balls fit perfectly, tennis balls a bit too big. I made an insert so the powder charge is the amount of a 35mm film canister (which I use to form the foil), so probably about 125gr.
As authentic as they get as made by LaPan. There are some more historically correct ones out there, but these are/were pretty common. They are not pool ball, but full 4.5" chambered bore pieces. I think they just turn up in secondhand spots, probably infrequently. I don't know how many they made but at least 35 as I own #'s 34 & 35.
