Howitzer targets are 50 yds shorter than rifled gun targets...watch until about the 20 second mark and see what happens after it has hit it's target

I know very little about cannons. Can that round be recovered and reused?
Oh yes most of the time the harder rounds (zinc) the softer rounds (lead) can be recovered and remelted to make new rounds.

No. typically made of iron.
Yes the solid shot could be reused if found. Those were made from fairly hard cast iron. If it didn’t shatter hitting something you could reuse it.
