Works best if you have a device to blow the balloon up so you don't breathe too much moisture into the flour.

I don’t know how I ended up with it, but my mom used this to blow up balloons when I wasn’t even old enough to know how a balloon got blown up! Still works great!

Made a couple starters from left over project's,but just had to give the balls a go.
Golf balls make great file handles, just drill a 1/8 or 3/16 hole in them and tap the file in. They work great and have I think a better feel than a regular handle.

Here you go @IronHand. You've inspired me. I've hunted with Minies before in my Parker Hales (1853, 1858), but never round ball. I finally got the three bander out this morning for some accuracy tests. I shot this target of 15 from 50 metres using various field positions, including sitting supported, sitting unsupported, leaning post and kneeling. I think the results show an adequate readiness for either pig or deer. I used .562 round ball, 65 grains FFFG Wano real black, with a .018 spit patch, an overthrow of semolina on top of the powder charge. I'll be heading afield in the second or third week of December, so will provide a field report after the event.

It would be nice to come across a similar lad to this fellow below, photographed a few seasons ago; but that water is long gone, the terrain dry now in the northern Australian summer.

Cheers, Pete

Well done. Should do the job. 👍

finished the on side grip panel on the Remington 1858. now tru oiling the thing. this panel is version 3.
gave one an extra lick with a sander and got it to thin at the half moon.
on the second one I got to feeling froggy and applied a rasp with too much pressure, snapped it in two. of course that one had the best figure in it. lucky blue air doesn't stain maple. the current threat is having to sleep in the garage.
Going to make some Ivory screw inserts I think.

Shot at our club’s annual turkey shoot, last weekend. Managed to split a card with one shot, and won a turkey on my second shot! Got some raffle prizes, too! Great weekend shoot! Thanks Muscogee Long Rifles!View attachment 364313View attachment 364314View attachment 364315
you scored! looked at our local super 1 grocery today. they were pimping the organic birds. 15 pound bird, $132.50. I about messed my self. left hoping the flock of Jakes were still on the road to our house. could get rich plowing a dozen of them over!

Received my shooting box from Spiderman 317 today. Fantastic workmanship and functionality. I've got three of those hard plastic MSM boxes which have always worked well but I keep so much in them they weigh a ton. This will help simplify things on my range trips. I haven't been shooting since before my wife passed away almost four years ago, so now I have to go through them and see exactly what I have and transfer items over to the new box when I get back out there.

More filing...this time it's a CVA...I bought 2 parts kits at an auction (same auction that I bought the lefty barrel). I did a 'preliminary' rust cleanup file the day after I got them home. I'm finally getting serious about it. The locks fit in the stocks and the double set fires just fine. Regardless of what CVA called them...they're NOT Hawkens.

Went to the LGS for some powder and walked out with a Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter. The exterior wasn't in the best of shape, but the bore is 90%. Wasn't going to complain since I paid $100.00 for it!
