I am considering a duck hunt. I have 12 gauge SxS CVA. Love this gun, use it mostly for chukar. Must use steel shot for water fowl. Just concerned about damage to the barrel?

Here is where you need to go...

You can always call them.
When we had to go to steel shot, I found it horrible. Fast initially but due to light pellet weight it dropped off past 20 yards. And I had to go to larger shot size, which opened up patterns. I grew so frustrated that I bought a Mag10.
I still have a bunch of the Kent Tungsten matrix ammo in 12 gauge even though I haven't hunted waterfowl in a bunch of years. Stored in GI ammo cans, it will last beyond me. Who knows, I might take it up again.
The steel shot cups are made especially for steel shot. They are thicker and tougher than regular shot cups. Use them if you must go with steel.
