Really beautiful and well crafted custom Hawken style rifle. Its browned 31" GR DOUGLAS barrel has a mirror bright bore. Rifle appears unfired. Twist is 1:66. The Tiger Maple stock has really nice grain and has been stained dark. Iron fittings and single trigger. Unmarked lock. LOP is 13.5 ". Rifle weighs about 8.7 lbs. Very minimal handling marks. Almost new condition. $950 + Shipping.

What possessed the man that made that beautiful rifle to put a single trigger on it?

A well made single trigger works just fine on a hunting rifle, and is simpler.
I am aware of that but that rifle looks like a Hawkin except for the trigger? I love the look of a Hawkin rifle. That rifle would have been gone faster if it had a double set trigger because I would have bought it!

Hawkens were built to order so I wouldn't be surprised if there's one or two that got ordered with a cheaper, simpler single trigger. But yes a double is very fine I enjoy them with muchitude.
