Got out my cap and ball pistol just to check it. tryed a cleaning patch on ramrod got it stuck in the barrel. my stupidity of being in a hurry. Took the nipple off poured some powder in tapped it ,pour some more power in then replaced nipple. Real dry here so picked a clearing that didn't have leaves and dry grass but had rocks. Fired out into that spot. That ramrod must have hit a rock becouse it ricochet off in to the wild blue and not found yet. Enough smoke could not see where it went

Working on the Carolina gun .... Thumb piece ...yesterday , then today ... Hmmm ....can't quite put my finger on it but ..... looks slightly different ... hmmmm ..... Pinned , glued , filed , engraved ...

Thanks for sharing ,I have a question about the guys with the nice long beards I wondering if any of every get burnt or catch fire .no Pune intended just wondering .

I’ve never got mine on fire but have got it caught in the slider on the tent ropes…👀

Not a problem, you just grit your teeth and rip out a chunk of your whiskers..🤣

In reality, once they’re caught between the rope & the slider those hairs are goners.

I have singed my whiskers while in a fire starting contest however….🤣

Thanks Rob

I enjoy them as well.

Luckily we have several members who take pics and share them with everyone else..
So I can’t take credit for all of the pics.

You build a fine looking gun Brother.👍
Thanks for taking us along on those builds as well.👍

Did something similar once with a .58 rifle, but just got the patch stuck not the ramrod itself! Took out the nipple, took the hose off my propane stove, and blew the patch out with propane. Only slightly safer than your method, and compressed air would be even better if available. Or compressed oxygen from an oxyacetylene welder.
