Greetings.

I was able to obtain one of these fine underhammer pistols. It seems I read somewhere that these have a "patent breech", that is a breech area of a different size than the barrel. Is anyone aware of this? And, if so, what is the diameter of that area? Looking to be able to clean it properly. Thanks.
 
You should be able to look down the barrel with a flashlight and see if it does or not. To clean them I use a patch wrapped around a much smaller than bore size bronze brush.
 
I have some match pistols with the PIA breech. I have had to turn down a bottom scraper brush to properly clean these. A cleaning patch wrapped around a .22 cal. brush will swab it but the bottom scraper is needed to be through...nsp

These are pictures from the Feinwerkbau site that I copied years ago. I have no idea of the inner diameter of the patent breech though, .... you're on your own there.
