I just bought a Pedersoli RS-DP-GRS Ghost Ring Tang Sight from Track of the Wolf for my Thompson Center 50 cal. Hawken Flintlock Rifle. It doesn't even come close to fitting the holes in the tang. I wouldn't mind using the rear tang screw hole and then drilling a hole in the tang for the front screw but the screw and screw head are waaay to big for the rear of the sight bracket..

It looks like my only option is to drill 2 additional holes in the tang and use the tiny screws that came with it for mounting the bracket onto the tang.

Any suggestions?

Most Ace hardware and True Value hardware stores carry an assortment of gun screws. You should be able to find some that will work for your application. You may still need to drill and tap one hole if you plan to use the existing rear tang screw hole.

One of the issues is the rear tang screw is way to large to use for the rear of the Ghost Ring Sight. Consequently, I will have to drill and tap additional holes forward of the rear tang screw to mount this Sight.

Is it worth the effort? I'm just all to consumed with the Pedersoli Hawken Hunter Steve Rinella was using in MeatEater, Season 10, Episode 4 "Flash in the Pan". It's about the Pennsylvania Flintlock Season and Steve Rinella had this Ghost Ring Sight on his Rifle. I know, I know, maybe I should have bought a Pedersoli Hawken Hunter but the price was right on the Thompson Center Hawken and it's made in the USA.

I think the Pedersoli ghost sight is made for the front screw in the tang. The site block won’t be square with the barrel if you mount it to the back screw. Then you could just drill and tap your tang for the second screw.

You would think a Hawken design would be pretty universal. I have Pedersoli, Lyman, Thompson Center, Traditions, and CVA Flintlocks in a range of long rifles designs and this Sight doesn't come close to working for any of them.
