Many guns were Nickle Plated at one time for Parades or simply 'bling', example, the many Lugers seen after WW2. Also some Krags and the odd muzzle loader. Has anyone used a plating shop to "Reverse" the plating, for removal? I may have access to a pistol that is OK as a shooter but really needs horrible nickle plate removed. Any experiences? This could apply to any old gun that was so done.

We did one German guild gun. It is a reverse electrolysis process, using a certain chemical. Brownell's carries it. You could talk to their tech staff for info, and possibly get a recommendation of someone in your area to do the job. Probably cost prohibitive to set up for a single gun. I seem to recall it took several days to complete the process.
