build a fire underneath an the lead will separate from the steel and run down thru the middle into a waiting receptical
Great idea đź’ˇ I don't have a saw blade like that but can employ the principle on a smaller scale.
How do I tell the difference of the zinc ?
My understanding is that the zinc are stick on and the lead are clip on. Not certain though. Bears some checking out.

It was a beautiful fall day here in Kentucky. I set up a table and cast some .395, .440 and .595 round balls.

Wow! Didn’t know your a Blacksmith ~ Nice work 👍🏻
Thank Bob! In my spare time I am. Not that I have had much of that lately! I mostly forge knives and some hawks! Some work from the last 1.5 years! All are forged to shape, ground, heat treated and finished by me.

Neighbor found an old Western Pa. percussion long rifle. It has a number of old nailed on sheet brass repairs between the wrist , and the front end of the lock plate. He took the barrel out of the stock , and the rifle fell into two pieces , and the wood seems too powdery to fix. I made some suggestions , to help him decide what he can do to restore the rifle , or use the hardware to build a copy. I'm in favor of doing a copy , but it's his decision.

It seems I got a gentle reprimand as the moderator thought I was talking about a cartridge .36. This was not the case as my .36” double rifle is indeed a muzzle loader. The added extract on loading tables for cartridge double rifles was to indicate BP loadings , pressures and velocities , which can be applied to muzzle loading I can resend the tables if our moderator approves, It also has a pair of 28 g shotgun barrels . At present The .36 it’s set for 209 primers . Due to lack of percussion caps Regards Gordon

Bought a TC Renegade flinter. Took it apart, cleaned 40 years of closet dust and 'something sticky'. Reassembled it. Good sparker. Bought a percussion something rifle...waiting on delivery...for 6 days. Got a delivery date and time in an email...nope...didn't come. While this was 'in the works' I sanded the browning off the barrel to the lefty / now righty Cabela's because I noticed a scratch I missed. I'm old and can't stand very long...barrel half done. Scanned the auction site and wondered why people sell really nice rifles for cheap.

I live in the UK and have never shot a deer , just the way it is in this green and pleasant land , plenty of road kill on some country roads, most I have seen are bloated , no thanks

I understand Sir..

I live in rural area in Tennessee and have been very fortunate to have shot many deer.

Our landscape is mostly rolling hills & hollows , some areas have heavy cover.
Which the deer seek during our Fall hunting season.

This pic is one of my hides/ stands I hunt from during bad weather..

Most road kill around my parts don’t lay long enough to become bloated….🤷‍♂️

It’s raining in Tennessee today ….
We needed it…

Very nice double gun Sir…👍

Got up early this morning, got ready to hunt with my Kibler, but decided the perfect wind for the chair I had set up down the ridge was too perfect to pass up to hunt with my longbow.

Actually got my first shot with a longbow at a small buck this morning. “At” being the operative word for a miss. Got that outta the way, so next time I won’t be as nervous.

Rain due for the rest of the day.
