My son drew a muzzleloader mule deer hunt this fall in New Mexico. We were able to find this one on the second day. It’s not real big, but it was a legal shooter. It was his first deer to shoot. Needless to say, he was over the moon excited. Shot it at 25 yards. Shot was a little high, clipped both lungs and his spine. Dropped him instantly though, with a clean pass through.

He used a .50 cal Hawkin I got as a kit about 25 years ago when I was a teenager. This is the first animal the rifle has taken. I’ve taken it out a few times but never saw anything
