My son bought a small mountain home a couple years ago. He likes to ride motorcycles, as do I. One dark morning on the way to work, he rounded a corner and a deer ran right across the road in front of him. He was able to brake in time but that startled him so much he gave up riding road bikes. I've experienced a flatbed trailer tire blowout next to me on the freeway once but no encounters with critters. Yet.

Glad it's just the car that got mashed and not you.

Both of my younger brothers have had bad accidents because of deer ... and their recklessness.
One left a high school party at 9:00 pm and bundled up because it was 14 deg. He took a back road as a shortcut and hit a 170 lb. buck @ 80 mph. He slid for 150 yards, tore through both his coats and had a hole worn through his helmet from the asphalt. However, he survived and only spent 3 days in the hospital.
The other one was riding a dirt bike through the woods on a snowmobile trail, a deer jumped out, he swerved and hit a tree. Both arms broken, one wrist and an ankle. Pins and bolts and rods later, they discharged him after 3 weeks.
Motorcycles and deer don't mix!

I’ve seen some bad motorcycle vs deer come through the ER

Glad your ok thats got to be a nightmare. My younger brother crashed into a cow on his dirtbike on a farm we were riding. He was ok and bounced off without harm

Well I’m writing this as I sit in the blind for MO firearms season. I hit a deer and totaled my car on the way to the farm this morning. Not really how I wanted to start the season. No one was hurt and the Hawken is ready to eat.
Before retirement I commuyted through a suburban area where deer were thick as fleas. Had a minor hit and a bunch of close calls. Then I installed this:

From then on every deer, or other critter, I saw was going away from me fast.
