Original Post: I decided to hunt with the 20 gauge fowler this am. I was in a rush and forgot to pack the bag of roundballs. I was looking through my truck for them and realized they were on the workbench at home 45 minutes away. I sat there angry as it was about to be daylight in 30 minutes. I decided to snack on some candy left over from Halloween. Then I seen it and got a cleaver Idea a jaw breaker is round and about the same size. I popped one out of package and yup close enough I loaded her up with the hard candy. Got to the stand and right after daylight a fat lone doe came out with no buck following at 30 yards. I cocked the hammer aimed and whammmo. She kicked up and fell over stone cold dead. The piece of round candy came apart inside the deer destroying the vitals but it worked. She was literally one "SWEET" tasting doe. Question is am I telling the truth or making up a story.

Update: For those that called manure here’s some measurements that might offer some validity. The white (jawbreaker) one a perfect .600 the red hot (red one) a perfect .720 hmmm looks like 20 gauge for the .600 like I claimed and the 12 gauge lovers a red hot will work. Hmm maybe I am telling the truth.

Is that the same thing as being sweet to a deer? You do realize a dozen guys are now out buying hard candy balls? What have you started?? What's next, cats sleeping with dogs, politicians telling the truth, lawyers being honest? OH my Heavens to Betsy (whomever she is)!!!

When did this happen, Johnny? Within the last 20 years? If so, why didn't we hear or read about it?

I still think it's garden fertilizer just a bit sweeter than usual.
