I have a couple of the inline cappers and do not care for them, they do not hold enough caps.

Does anyone know if the Ted Cash Universal capper works with the 1851 Navy, the rifle capper does not.

Thanks!

I don't like inline cappers either. Nor a "snail" capper. I prefer what's called a "star capper". Look for them online. There are several variations and several makers and vendors.

Here's a YouTube video on same:

Though the ones I have take 12 caps; but I'm sorry, I don't remember where I got them. They work fine with both #10 and #11 caps and with both my Colt and Remington repros.

The question is

Does anyone know if the Ted Cash Universal capper works with the 1851 Navy?
I think that there is no one "Ted Cash Universal capper".

I browsed for that item on ebay and came up with multiple different capper types.

My star cappers work as well with my 1851 Navy as with my other cap 'n ball revolvers. Given that I've retrofitted it with Slixshot nipples maybe that doesn't really answer the specific question. But my opinion is the star cappers do work better than the other types of cappers that I've tried with my cap 'n ball revolvers. I don't see where the revolver involved being an 1851 Navy should really make much difference.

I gave up on the Cash cappers years ago. For some reason I would frequently have caps jam in them. Since that time, I bought a "Polish Capper" and use ut for my Colts, 1858 Remington, ROA and rifles. They hold a LOT of caps and have given me trouble free service for the past 8 years.

The cappers are not too expensive and although they are shipped from Poland, arrive in a couple of weeks.
