Someone tried to remove the breech plug it seems, gouged the barrel

Still, $500 is a deal.
Looks like a set screw for clean out. Never tried to remove it for fear of damage. I figure $500 is fair for the cosmetic work it will need.

I figure with the work needed to refinish wood and metal. A good reasonable price.
That’s a good deal on an Ithaca.
That is a factory installed screw. Pictures of other Ithaca Hawkens and factory literature show it too.
