here is an under hammer i found a couple of weeks ago. it is in 45 and shoots good. somebody fixed the stock on top and did a decent job. I have the globe front sight, I took it off and put this one on so i could see it a little better, I know there is a whole world of these things, if anybody has some knowledge on these i would like to hear it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I also have one but I hate the plastic Butt plate. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to replace it with brass/iron? Thank you.
 
I could live with that, but the butt stock is flat. The plastic allows for some curvature to better fit shoulder. Hoping someone might have a Schuetzen style I could modify.. Your idea would work fine, however. Thanks.

Your other option would be to sand a curve into the raw butt. The brass would be soft enough to follow the curve when screwed on.
 
Pecatonica River company shows a kit for the underhammer rifle, and it shows a nice looking steel buttplate as part of the kit. That might be what you're looking for.
 
I would think each barrel might have a different requirement for ball size. Different years, various tooling etc. also patch material and thickness. I use a .437 ball in mine and always made my own.
