Hi all, I have been on the fence about muzzleloading for awhile because of the availability of black powder but now I've realized the best time was yesterday, the second best time is now! The simplicity and art behind the history and the rifles themselves fascinates me and I'd like to learn more about it's use in my neck of the woods while I'm here (Columbus, GA.) Looking forward to getting started on my black powder journey :)

Welcome and join up with the muscogee long rifles about 30 minutes north of you.

Welcome from Upstate New York's Central-Leatherstocking Region.

". . . because of the availability of black powder but now I've realized the best time was yesterday . . . " Very true in many things. But you can only start now, and now isn't quite as good as it was 15 years ago but it ain't bad. T/C is in new hands and may bring back traditional. Tom Fuller passed the torch for flints. Blackpowder is obscenely expensive . . . but so are modern reloading powders. #11 primers are actually easier for find right now than large rifle centerfire primers.

Battle on. It is worth it.

WabiSammy, sorry you missed the November Turkey Shoot, and we take the month of December off, but the second Saturday in January will find most of us out at the range, burning powder! Located just a little north of Columbus, in Cataula,Ga, the Muscogee Long Rifles is your local traditional muzzleloader club. We are located at 1875 Holland Road, Cataula, Ga. Come on out!
